Gov. Rick Scott has appointed former Lake County Manager Pete Wahl to the Lake-Sumter State College board of trustees.
Scott's office announced late Wednesday that he also appointed Bret Jones, a local attorney who served on the board of South Lake Charter Elementary School, as an LSSC trustee.
Wahl, 68, of The Villages, fills a vacant seat on the college's board. His term will run through May 31, 2015. He is the retired community projects director for The Villages of Lake Sumter. Wahl served as Lake County manager for three years before leaving in 1995 to go to work for the Villages community development district.
Jones, 34, of Clermont, succeeds trustee Margo Odom. His term will end May 31, 2017.
Both appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
